Fubo finished the third quarter of 2023 with more than 1.47 million paid subscribers in North America, marking a good quarter overall for subscriber growth.

Considering Fubo ended the second quarter of 2023 with 1,167,000 subscribers in North America, the reporting of 1.477,000 for Q3 2023 resulted in a gain of more than 300,000 over the previous quarter.

Technically, Fubo tends to prefer to focus on yearly changes, due to the seasonality of sports. On that note, Fubo ended the third quarter of 2022 with 1,231,000 subscribers, resulting in an increase of 246,000 during Q3 2023.

The company’s Q3 2023 earnings report also confirmed $313 million in total revenue (up 43% year-over-year). This included $30.3 million in North America ad revenue during the quarter, a year-over-year increase of 34%.

While North America is the main market for Fubo, the live TV service operates in some international markets as well. According to its latest results, Fubo’s Rest of World (ROW) subscribers totalled 411,000, an increase of 17,000 when compared to the 394,000 reported at the end of the second quarter of 2023.

At the year-over-year level, Fubo’s ROW was up 53,000 when compared to the 358,000 reported at the end of the third quarter of 2023.

Fubo’s strong third quarter exceeded guidance in North America, highlighted by an all-time high in paid subscribers as well as double digit year-over-year revenue growth,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO, Fubo.

Following its latest results, Fubo now anticipates closing out 2023 as a whole with around 1.599 million paid subscribers, an increase from the 1.584 million guidance previously provided by the company. For reference, Fubo ended the fourth quarter of 2022 (and the year) with 1.445 million subscribers in North America.
