Fubo subscribers using an Android TV or Google TV device have gained the ability to quickly navigate back to the previous channel through an app update.
Fubo has recently been in the process of updating its app with a new look and design, and earlier this month, an update rolled out to Android TV and Google TV devices to address a number of issues with the new UI. These included support for changing the channel with the up/down button on the remote, and improvements to reduce buffering on certain channels.
Today, Fubo confirmed that another update is now rolling out to Android TV and Google TV devices, and with more improvements to the experience. According to a Reddit post by Fubo’s Chief Product Officer, Mike Berkley, the latest version of the app makes it possible to long-press on the Back button to go back to the previous channel. Something, Berkley says, was “a very important request from many of you.”
The latest version of the app is also said to improve channel browsing while watching a live channel. Subscribers can take advantage of this improvement by clicking the Down button in the video player
Similar to the previous update, the latest app version also looks to reduce buffering on certain channels. Presumably, different channels to the previous update, increasing the overall number of channels that should see a reduction in buffering issues.
As is usually the case with app updates, Fubo subscribers should see these improvements roll out to their device(s) organically over the coming days and weeks. For those that would rather see if the update is available sooner, available updates can manually be applied by heading to the Manage apps & games section of the Google Play app.
Berkley also confirmed that the same improvements will roll out to Fire TV devices as well. When pressed on when exactly, Berkley explained that the Fire TV update is expected to slowly roll out over the next several weeks.
