Warner Bros. Discovery and TNT Sports have agreed a deal with the French Tennis Federation. Thanks to the new agreement, the entire Roland-Garros tournament will be available to watch on Max in the United States from next year.

The availability of the French Open on Max is part of a much wider agreement which also sees featured live matches available to watch on TNT, with additional live coverage available to watch on TBS and truTV.

NBC and Tennis Channel held the rights to the French Open up to and including this year’s tournament, resulting in coverage on NBC, Peacock, and the Tennis Channel. According to Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement, its tenure of broadcasting the French Open covers the next ten years.

TNT Sports is thrilled to partner with the French Tennis Federation and exclusively present unprecedented coverage of Roland-Garros – one of the most prestigious sports events every year – across our full array of platforms,” said Luis Silberwasser, Chairman and CEO, TNT Sports.

Sports on Max are currently free to subscribers, thanks to Warner Bros. Discovery having unlocked access to the BR Sports Add-on. However, this is only a limited-time situation with Warner Bros. Discovery expected to begin charging an additional $9.99 a month for access to the add-on later this year.

While not specifically confirmed today, it stands to reason that all of the extended tennis coverage included with this French Tennis Federation deal will require access to the BR Sports Add-on.

In a separate announcement earlier today, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed that Max is now live and available in France and Poland. These latest countries complete the first wave of the service’s European expansion, which has seen Max go live in a total of 25 countries over the past month.
