Cox Customers No Longer Get Peacock Premium For Free

Any Cox subscribers that were getting Peacock Premium for free have now lost access to the paid side of the service. Peacock offers three different access tiers with two of them requiring a monthly subscription. Affected Cox subscribers will need to now either stick with the free tier or consider paying for one of the paid Premium plans.

For some time now, Peacock has been running an offer which allowed Cox customers to watch Peacock for free. The original offer was available to any Cox Internet customers with any Cox TV service. Those customers were essentially gifted with a free Peacock Premium subscription. In addition, Cox Internet customers with a Contour Stream Player were also able to take advantage of the same offer.

However, the Cox offer was just a ‘limited time preview.’ Unlike typical free trials which have an end date that varies depending on when the user signs up, the Cox free preview was due to end on January 17, 2023. As a result, Cox customers who were previously getting Peacock Premium for free have since lost access to the service.

Considering Peacock does offer a free tier, affected customers may not have noticed the change unless they attempted to watch paywalled content, or had received and seen a notification from Peacock advising of the end of the extended free trial period.

With the extended free preview now over, Cox customers looking to maintain access to Peacock will need to consider paying for one of the paid Premium plans. The standard Premium plan costs $4.99 per month and unlocks ad-supported access to the full Peacock library. For those that would prefer an ad-free viewing experience, the Premium Plus plan costs $9.99 per month.

Of course, Cox customers can also just stick with the free version of Peacock. Unlike the paid Premium plans, the free Peacock tier doesn’t unlock access to the full Peacock catalog, although it does still offer some episodes, movies, and additional content for free.

  1. I have the sport’s package. I was really P.O’d when I couldn’t get the Diamondbacks game today.
