Subscribing to Amazon Music Unlimited now comes with the additional benefit of up to six months of Disney+ for free. By combining both subscriptions together, music, movies and TV fans can lower the cost of both services. However, as this is a limited-length promotion, the total price will eventually revert to the higher cost.
Disney+ has quickly established itself as one of the major forces within the streaming scene and, in spite of its late to market launch, the service now boasts tens of millions of subscribers. Of course, with a Disney+ subscription currently costing just $7.99 per month, the price is one of the major selling points compared to HBO Max and Netflix. In addition, with the current cost a result of a recent price increase from the original $6.99 per month, the service is unlikely to see another price increase anytime soon.
Now, Amazon has launched a promotion that allows Music Unlimited subscribers to get up to six months of Disney+ for free. Following the recent and related Prime Day promotion that offered Fire TV player buyers a free three-month Disney bundle subscription, those opting to take advantage of this Music Unlimited and Disney+ deal will be able to stream music, movies and TV show episodes for longer, while still saving $7.99 per month on the overall cost of both Music Unlimited and Disney+.
For those new to Amazon’s Music Unlimited service, it provides unlimited ad-free access to more than 75 million songs for one monthly cost. Those with an existing Prime Membership can add Music Unlimited to their account for $7.99 per month, while those without Prime can expect to pay $9.99 per month.
Music Unlimited and Disney+ deal explained
How long exactly a consumer gets will depend. For example, Amazon is currently only offering the full six months to those that sign up to Music Unlimited as a new customer and for the first time. In contrast, existing (or former) customers are only eligible for up to three months.
Furthermore, the deal is also only available to those that aren’t already signed up to Disney+. Therefore, all existing subscribers to the Disney streaming service are not eligible for the promotion, even if never having subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited. The other major point to keep in mind, is the end of the promotion.
Regardless of whether you get three or six months for free, the subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription once the free period ends and unless canceled before then. For those only considering signing up to Music Unlimited to secure the free Disney+, they will eventually end up paying a maximum of $9.99 per month for Music Unlimited and $7.99 per month for Disney+.
Due to this, the deal is really only best suited to those that are already Music Unlimited subscribers or those who intend to listen to music through Amazon. Considering the deal still requires consumers to pay the monthly fee for Unlimited Music during the promotional period, some consumers might find they are better off subscribing to Disney+ directly, or combining it with Hulu and ESPN+ through the Disney bundle, priced at $13.99 per month for all three services.
