The Fox Weather free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel is now available to Cox subscribers and is coming to Samsung TVs later this week.
As the name suggests, Fox Weather is a weather-focused service, providing user with access to local weather news and live weather updates. Fox Weather is available as a free app, and can also be accessed as a free service on other devices and platforms. In November of last year, for example, the Fox Weather FAST channel was added to Vizio smart TVs.
Cox Contour TV customers are next to get access to Fox Weather, with the FAST channel having now been added to Cox’s Expanded Basic package in several markets. According to the announcement, this deal will increase the Fox Weather distribution base by as many any 1.7 million subscribers.
From Wednesday (August 23), Fox Weather will also be available on Samsung TV Plus. Once live, the FAST weather channel will be available on channel 1010 to anyone with a 2016 or newer Samsung smart TV.
As this deal is making Fox Weather available through Samsung TV Plus, the FAST channel will also be available on other Smasung devices, including Samsung Galaxy devices, Samsung Smart Monitors, Samsung Family Hub, and via the web version of Samsung TV Plus.
“As the fastest growing weather service in the country, we look forward to welcoming Samsung TV Plus users and Cox subscribers to FOX Weather’s innovative, best-in-class service,” said Fox Weather President Sharri Berg.
For those without access to any of the already mentioned devices and platforms, Fox Weather is also available through a variety of live TV streaming services, including DirecTV Stream, Fubo, and YouTube TV. This is in addition to many other other free services, including Fire TV Channels, LG Channels, The Roku Channel and Xumo Play.
