FilmRise for Her is a free streaming service and app that’s now available on a variety of platforms and devices including Fire TV, Roku, Samsung smart TVs, and LG Channels. The app is part of the FilmRise film and television family, and is free to download and use.

FilmRise already offers a ‘FilmRise’ app which is available to download on most platforms and offers the ability to watch a variety of movies and TV shows for free.

FilmRise for Her is designed to complement the main app by offering homes a way to tap more directly into “favorite feel-good rom-coms, hit movies with lead actresses, female-led true crime and much more”.

In particularly, FilmRise is making a point to focus in on the selection of rom-coms that are available to stream through the app, citing rom-coms as “one of FilmRise viewers’ favorite genres”. Some of the rom-coms available to watch at launch include Play the Game (2009), And Then Came Love (2007), and Love in Bloom (2022).

For those more interested in true crime, the FilmRise for Her app also unlocks access to Bloodline Detectives (hosted by Nancy Grace) and Meet Marry Murder (hosted by Michelle Trachtenberg).

Although now available on a variety of the most popular platforms, it seems like device support is still a little limited at launch. For example, Apple TV, iOS, Android mobile, and Google TV (formerly Android TV) are all currently missing support, as is a variety of smart TV brands including Vizio.

While device support should improve over time, FilmRise for Her can be watched for free on Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices as well as LG and Samsung TVs in the meantime.
