Following a new agreement with Cineverse, Philo Movies & More subscribers now have access to the Fandor library at no additional cost.
Movies & More is a premium upgrade to the base Philo live TV plan. The add-on unlocks access to a number of additional channels for an additional $3 a month.
The addition of Fandor to Movie & More as a video-on-demand (VOD) option now means those paying for Philo’s add-on have access to a collection of indie, international, documentary, and classic films.
As the Fandor library was officially added this morning, existing Movies & More subscribers should already find that they have access to the new content with their subscription. Likewise, those signing up to Philo for the first time and bundling the add-on with the base live TV plan, can also expect to have access to the Fandor catalog after signing up.
The addition of Fandor is an extension of an agreement that was already in place between Cineverse and Philo. Back in May of this year, The Bob Ross Channel, Comedy Dynamics, and Screambox TV were all added to Philo’s base plan as free channels. These free channels are all also owned by Cineverse.
The Movies & More add-on also includes access to HDNet Movies, FMC, Reelz, and Sony Movies. Due to a dispute with Anthem Sports & Entertainment, it had been expected that HDNet Movies would be removed from the add-on at the start of August (along with AXS TV from the base plan). However, that removal was temporarily been put on hold while the two companies continue to negotiate.
While it currently remains unclear whether HDNet Movies will permanently remain available through the Movies & More add-on, subscribers do now have access to a selection of hand-picked, award-winning films from around the world.
