Disney+ subscribers can now visit Iceland on Apple Vision Pro, thanks to the launch of a new immersive environment from National Geographic that transports users to Thingvellir National Park.
The new immersive environment is National Geographic’s first-ever immersive project for Apple Vision Pro, and is available to access beginning today through the Disney+ app. Once launched, Vision Pro users can explore their Thingvellir National Park surroundings on a snowy winter day, as well as set the environment as a backdrop for watching Disney+.
“Since its inception, National Geographic has been at the forefront of photography and has led the way in using groundbreaking technology to tell stories that inspire a deeper connection to the natural world,” said David Miller, EVP, National Geographic. “Creating this immersive environment was a natural next step for us to take to build on that legacy and to continue enabling audiences to experience the beauty of our natural world and see places they may never go to otherwise.”
In addition to the new immersive environment from National Geographic, Disney+ has also made four 3D Marvel movies available to watch on Apple’s headset. The new 3D additions available today include Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
For those Apple Vision Pro users who don’t currently have a Disney+ subscription, it is worth noting that a free Tubi visionOS app also recently became available to download, unlocking access to a library of free movies, shows and more.
