The Disney Bundle: How Much It Costs And What You Get

The Disney Bundle plan

The Disney Bundle can be a great way to save on the cost of Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu subscriptions while gaining access to a wide selection of entertainment shows, movies and live sports. Even though the bundle might not be the best solution for everyone, it does offer enough value that it may still be worth signing up for, even if you only want access to two of the services.

The Disney Bundle consists of Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu. This is basic Hulu and not the live TV service. However, a standard Hulu Live TV subscription now includes access to Disney Plus and ESPN Plus removing the need to sign up to bundle. The total price of The Disney Bundle depends on whether a home wants access to Disney Plus Basic or Disney Plus Premium. Regardless of which version of Disney Plus is chosen, the value on offer with the bundle is very clear to see.

In short, there are three different types of Disney Bundle available. These are Duo Basic, Trio Basic, and Trio Premium. Duo Basic is the cheapest at $9.99 per month and bundles together Disney Plus (With Ads) and Hulu (With Ads). Trio Basic is pretty much the same plan although it costs $12.99 per month and unlocks access to ESPN Plus (With Ads) as well. For those wanting more of an ad-free experience, Trio Premium includes ad-free Disney Plus, ad-free Hulu, and ESPN Plus (With Ads) for $19.99 per month.

The standard Disney Plus Basic plan costs $7.99 per month while Disney Plus Premium on its own costs $10.99 per month. Hulu costs $7.99 per month with ads and $14.99 per month without ads. Finally, ESPN Plus cost $9.99 per month with no option to choose an ad-free tier. If paying separately for all three With Ads plans, the total price comes to $25.97 per month. Based on this, bundle subscribers are saving around $12.98 per month.

If wanting the upgraded premium experience then the savings are just as good. For example, the cost of separate Disney Plus Premium, Hulu (No Ads), and ESPN Plus comes to $35.97 per month. When compared to the Disney Plus Trio Premium bundle price, this results in a saving of $15.98 per month.

Basically, regardless of whether signing up for the Trio Basic or Trio Premium Disney Bundle, subscribers are saving on the cost of at least one of the three subscriptions each month. As this is akin to a pay for two, get a third free type of deal, some homes may find it is worth signing up to one of the Trio bundles even if they don’t necessarily want access to the third service. Not only is the third service essentially free, but some may actually save money each month. For example, if paying for Disney Plus and one of the other subscriptions, it may actually be cheaper to just bundle all three together.

If not signed up to any of these subscription services and considering the bundle, signing up is easy enough. Simply head over to the Disney Plus website and sign up. In fact, consumers can also head to either the ESPN Plus website or the Hulu website and still sign up for the bundle by clicking on the ‘Get The Disney Bundle‘ button, which will redirect the user to the Disney Plus website. Once signed up, the same email address can then be used to log in to Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu apps or websites.

Already a subscriber to one service?

Espn Plus, Disney Plus, Hulu

If already subscribed to one or two of these services, signing up to the bundle isn’t too complicated and doesn’t require you to cancel the existing subscription. That’s providing some requirements are met. Essentially, all an existing Disney Plus subscriber needs to do is log into their account and switch their plan to either Disney Bundle Trio Basic or Disney Bundle Trio Premium. They will then be able to create their ESPN Plus and Hulu accounts using the same login credentials as Disney Plus.

With Hulu and ESPN Plus, the process can be a little more complicated. For Hulu, it may be possible to just switch from an existing Hulu subscription by accessing the Account section of the Hulu website and selecting The Disney Bundle option under Manage Plan. In contrast, existing ESPN Plus subscribers will need to sign up for the bundle through Disney Plus, as there is no option to make the change directly through ESPN Plus. This may also mean they need to cancel their existing ESPN Plus subscription, but check first. This Disney+ help post provides additional information on the various bundle migration scenarios and any changes that might be needed.

It is important to keep in mind that different email addresses are treated as different subscriptions, meaning the consumer would need to cancel their existing subscription before signing up to the bundle with an alternative email address. An existing subscription can also only be upgraded to the bundle providing it was created directly through the service. In other words, if signed up through a third-party and/or not billed directly by the streaming service, then the existing subscription cannot be upgraded to a bundle subscription.

Another caveat is deals and promotional pricing. As long as the existing subscription(s) haven’t been discounted already, there should be no issues signing up. If they are discounted through a deal or promotion, the consumer will need to wait until the promotional period comes to an end or risk losing the discount they are already getting. Depending on the level of discount, it may not be financially worth signing up to the bundle to begin with.

The Disney Bundle summary

The Disney Bundle offers consumers a way to save on the combined cost of Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and basic Hulu. The cheapest bundle costs $9.99 per month and unlocks access to Disney Plus Basic and Hulu (With Ads). Alternatively, consumers can opt for the $12.99 per month Trio Basic bundle which includes Disney Plus Basic, Hulu (With Ads), and ESPN Plus. The most expensive bundle is Trio Premium, which provides access to Disney Plus Premium, Hulu (No Ads) and ESPN Plus (With Ads).

Regardless of which Disney Bundle is chosen, homes will save when compared to the cost of signing up to each of the included subscription separately. However, if already receiving a discount for one of these subscriptions, then homes may need to do the math to see if a Disney Bundle actually works out cheaper, or whether they are better off sticking with their discounted price.
