Dish has dropped KMCC (also known as Vegas 34) due to a carriage dispute with Scripps Media. Emails have been sent out to affected local customers to confirm the removal of the local channel from their lineup.

KMCC, the broadcast home for Vegas Golden Knights games, became unavailable to Dish customers on Dec. 19, 2023. This is according to the email, which goes on to state that “demands from Scripps Media have presented significant challenges” for Dish.

Even more specifically, Dish says the reason KMCC was dropped was due to Scripps “now insisting on significantly higher fees” for the channel.

Earlier this year, Scripps Sports acquired the rights to produce and distribute Golden Knights games via the local station KMCC-TV. By the end of August, Vegas 34 launched on channel 34 as the new official broadcast home of the Vegas Golden Knights.

At the same time as announcing the initial deal, it was also confirmed that a new direct-to-consumer streaming solution was in the works. The DTC solution arrived in September in the form of the new KnightTime+ streaming platform and subscription service.

A KnightTime+ season pass costs $69.99 and offers Golden Knights fans located within the team’s television territory a way to stream all locally aired games. This is in addition to other Golden Knights content.

With the channel no longer available through Dish, the company is advising affected customers to consider using an antenna to access the over-the-air version of the channel, or consider signing up to the KnightTime+ streaming service to continue watching live Golden Knights games.

  1. Or hiw about Fush just carrying the channel??? I gave fed up with Dish! They have refused to provide the $400 Guft card they offered LAST YEAR. They dropped any offer I had raising my bill by over $50 when I paused the service for 2 month NO ONE explained that this feature, which was a MAJOR reason I went with Dish, would delete all offers! Their customer service is horrible!
