Save $20 On A Discovery Plus Ad-Free Annual Plan With Code

Those considering signing up to Discovery Plus can currently save $20 on the cost of the ad-free annual plan thanks to a promo code. There are many reasons to consider signing up to a yearly subscription, with a cheaper price often the most obvious one. In this case, the discount brings the cost down to a level that makes it possible to watch Discovery Plus without commercials for less than the current monthly cost of the ad-supported plan.

Discovery Plus brings together a variety of shows from popular networks making it a good option for those that find content gaps with their existing streaming services. A standard subscription costs $4.99 per month, but consumers can upgrade to an ad-free experience for $6.99 per month. There are also additional ways to save on a subscription including a student discount and the ability for Verizon customers to possibly get Discovery Plus for free. Alternatively, consumers can also consider an annual plan to save on the cost.

Right now, new customers can sign up to the ad-free Discovery Plus annual plan at a cheaper price than usual. To apply the discount code, head over to discoveryplus.com/redeem, enter the “WBANNUAL” code, and continue to sign up as normal. Once applied, the promo code drops the price down from the usual $69.99 to just $49.99 for twelve months. At this rate, the average monthly cost works out to be around $4.15, making it cheaper than the $4.99 monthly rate for the ad-supported plan. The code is due to remain available up until April 1, 2022.

While this is a sizable discount on the usual cost, an annual plan may not be suitable for everyone. To begin with, consumers will want to make sure there is enough content available through the service before committing to a full year. Otherwise, it may just be worth paying the monthly rate for as long as the service is needed before canceling the subscription. For others, the deal is only really worth taking advantage of if wanting an ad-free experience. If fine with seeing ads, then paying monthly for the ad-supported version may remain a better option.

It is also worth keeping in mind that it is expected that Discovery Plus and HBO Max will merge at some point. While details on pricing of the combined service have yet to be provided, some consumers may find they are better off waiting to see what deals are available when the change takes place.
