DirecTV has agreed a deal with Prime Video to distribute this year’s New York Yankees regular season games in bars and other commercial venues.

In total, 20 games are set to be available to residential homes through Prime Video with the first taking place today when the Yankees host the Philadelphia Phillies. For Prime members, this means that they can watch these games without the need for any additional services or subscriptions.

For those that prefer to watch games with others, all of the Yankees’ regular season games will be available to watch in various commercial venues through DirecTV for Business. According to the announcement, the deal covers commercial venues in the Yankees’ home-team footprint which includes New York state, Connecticut, north and central New Jersey, and northeast Pennsylvania.

DirecTV for Business is also the official distributor of Thursday Night Football. As TNF is also distributed as an Amazon exclusive at the residential level through Prime Video, the Yankees deal is the latest between Amazon and DirecTV for Business.

It is worth noting that this deal comes soon after the loss of another. Up until recently, DirecTV for Business was distributing NFL Sunday Ticket to bars and other commercial properties, while the residential side of DirecTV distributed Sunday Ticket to homes.

However, along with the change that saw YouTube TV taking over the residential rights to Sunday Ticket, the NFL has created a new ‘EverPass Media’ entity with RedBird Capital Partners to deliver NFL Sunday Ticket to commercial venues in the United States.

Outside of MLB and NFL, DirecTV for Business also recently confirmed another deal to distribute Major League Soccer to commercial establishments across the US. For those wanting to watch at home, MLS Season Pass is exclusively available through Apple TV Plus.
