DirecTV Stream has added a new Sports Pack add-on that unlocks access to NFL RedZone and more. The exact channels a subscriber gets with the sports-focused add-on will depend on the plan they are currently signed up to.
Earlier today, DirecTV confirmed that it had agreed a new deal with the NFL to extend and expand its carriage rights for NFL Network and NFL RedZone. The new deal will see both of these channels becoming available to DirecTV Stream subscribers.
All DirecTV Stream subscribers can sign up to the new Sports Plus add-on. The add-on is already live on DirecTV Stream’s website, making it possible for subscribers to see what they get, and add it to their existing package today.
Likewise, any new users signing up to DirecTV Stream can also Sports Pack after choosing their base live TV plan.
According to DirecTV, Sports Pack unlocks access to:
- ACC Network
- Big Ten Network
- CBS Sports Network
- ESPNEWS
- ESPNU
- FanDuel TV (formerly TVG)
- FS2
- Golf Channel
- Longhorn Network (Out of Market)
- MLB Network
- MLB Strike Zone
- NBA TV
- Next Level Sports
- NFL Network (also available on Choice)
- NFL RedZone from NFL Network
- NHL Network
- Outdoor Channel
- SEC Network
- Sportsman Channel
- Tennis Channel
- TUDN
What’s listed above is a summary of what’s included in general. As some of these channels are already bundled with some of the more expensive DirecTV Stream packages, the exact list of channels added will depend on the package Sports Pack is being bundled with, and the channels a subscriber already has access to.
For example, those already signed up to a minimum of Choice will get access to NFL Network as part of their base package when the channel goes live in a few weeks.
In this sense, it is best to consider the channels listed above as what’s included when bundling Sports Pack with the Entertainment plan, DirecTV Stream’s cheapest package overall.
Even though NFL Network and NFL RedZone are not available through DirecTV Stream’s Sports Pack when signing up today, DirecTV has already confirmed that NFL Redzone will be available to all Sports Pack subscribers starting in August 2023.
