DirecTV Stream subscribers can watch HBO and Cinemax for free this weekend thanks to the latest free preview. The Last of Us is one of the most-talked about shows right now and new episodes are available to watch on HBO every Sunday. With the current free preview of HBO, DirecTV Stream subscribers can catch up on the first three episodes and watch the fourth one as soon as it is released.
It is not unusual for live TV services to offer periods where existing subscribers can watch premium content for free. Sling TV has routinely been offering free previews throughout 2022 and the most recent DirecTV Stream free preview was only last month. Back then, subscribers could watch MGM Plus for free from Jan. 19 through Jan. 22.
The currently free preview unlocks access to HBO and Cinemax from February 3rd (today) through February 6th (Monday). During this time, existing DirecTV Stream subscribers are able to tune in to either channel and watch live, or check out any of the available on-demand content. For example, the previous three episodes of The Last of Us on HBO.
If new to DirecTV Stream, then signing up over the weekend should still unlock access to the free HBO and Cinemax free preview, although that’s probably less of a concern to new subscribers due to a different promotion the service is running.
DirecTV stream offers four different plants to choose from with the price ranging from $75 per month to $155 per month. No matter which package a home signs up to, they can currently get three months of HBO Max, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, and MGM Plus at no additional cost.
For reference, the Feb. 3-6 free preview of HBO and Cinemax is not only open to DirecTV Stream subscribers, but also DirecTV and U-verse customers as well.
