DirecTV, DirecTV Stream and U-verse subscribers have free access to Paramount+ with Showtime over the weekend. Considering the Paramount+ with Showtime add-on typically costs $11.99 a month, this is a good way to check out the premium service without having to pay for a subscription.
The free preview officially went live today (Feb. 16) and will remain available through Monday (Feb. 19). During this time, DirecTV Stream subscribers have access to the Paramount+ with Showtime linear channel, as well as 6 Showtime multi-plex channels, through the live guide.
DirecTV and U-verse customers get access to Paramount+ with Showtime East and West channels, in addition to 10 Showtime multi-plex channels, including TMC and FLIX.
Along with the live linear feeds, DirecTV Stream subscribers also get access to all of the on-demand Paramount+ with Showtime content available within the DirecTV app, including Everything Everywhere All At Once, Halo, Mayor of Kingstown, Sexy Beast, Star Trek: Discovery and The Whale.
For reference, this free preview doesn’t unlock access to the Paramount+ with Showtime app. Instead, DirecTV subscribers do need to use the DirecTV app to watch any of the content available through the free preview.
For those that would like to retain access to Paramount+ with Showtime after the free preview ends, the add-on can be added to any existing live TV plan for an additional $11.99 a month. If new to DirecTV Stream in general, the live TV service currently offers the first three months of Paramount+ with Showtime for free when signing up and bundling the add-on with a live TV package.
