Daily Wire has now launched Bentkey, a new streaming service and app for kids programming. The new streaming platform is an expansion and rebranding of the DW Kids service that had been in development since early 2022.
The Daily Wire officially announced the launch of the new service yesterday, on the 100th anniversary of the founding of The Walt Disney Company. The timing wasn’t a coincidence either, as the Daily Wire is marketing the new service as a politics-free alternative to Disney’s services and programming.
This politics-free approach was also the reasoning behind the rebrand. According to the announcement post by Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing, “Bentkey isn’t about teaching kids politics.”
In terms of the price, Bentkey is available as a standalone purchase for $99 a year, with no option currently to pay on a monthly basis. For those already signed up to the company’s DailyWire+ annual subscription, access to Bentkey is now included with a membership at no additional cost.
At launch, users get access to 150 episodes with the promise of new episodes released every Saturday morning. The programming lineup includes four Bentkey Adventures original series called A Wonderful Day with Mabel Maclay, Chip Chilla, Kid Fit Go!, and Kid Explorer.
Daily Wire also confirmed that a new live-action Snow White and the Evil Queen movie will be available to stream on Bentkey in 2024.
For those interested in giving the new streaming service a try, Bentkey apps are available to download on a variety of platforms and devices, including Apple TV, Fire TV, and Roku smart TVs and players, as well as Android and iOS mobile devices.
However, device support seems to be missing for Android TV / Google TV at the moment. In addition, apps also currently seem unavailable for Samsung, LG, and Vizio TVs.
