It is now confirmed. Netflix will be home to two NFL games this Christmas Day. In addition, Netflix will also be home to at least one NFL game on Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 as well.

After rumors started to swirl last last week that the streaming service and league were in talks over Christmas Day football, both Netflix and the NFL today confirmed that a three-season deal has been agreed.

Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more,” says Netflix Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria. “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.”

For those that typically watch in-market games on broadcast television, this deal is not going to affect those fans. In addition to watching on Netflix, both games will also air on broadcast TV in the competing team cities. Both games will also continue to be available to stream with an NFL+ subscription on mobile devices in the United States.

We couldn’t be more excited to be the first professional sports league to partner with Netflix to bring live games to fans around the world,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution. “The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition and to partner with Netflix, a service whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans.”

The NFL is due to announce its full 2024 schedule at 8 p.m. ET tonight. At which point, it will become clear which teams will be competing in this year’s two Christmas Day marquee games on Netflix.
