During its 2023 fall hardware event, Amazon announced a number of new Fire TV devices. Amazon also confirmed that anyone buying a new Fire TV device can get 6 months of MGM Plus for free.

MGM Plus is a rebranded version of Epix. Back in 2022, Amazon purchased MGM, and then earlier this year, the Epix streaming service went through its rebrand and transition to MGM Plus. The current version of the streaming service offers access to a variety of popular movies and shows, including From, Godfather of Harlem, House of Gucci, No Time to Die, and Top Gun: Maverick.

For those that have yet to test out the service, now might be a good time to do so, and especially if you are planning on picking up a new Fire TV device in general. Considering a standard MGM Plus subscription costs $5.99 a month, getting six months for free is the equivalent to saving $35.94 over half a year.

In terms of caveats, there doesn’t seem to be any to really note. Amazon simply says that U.S. customers who purchase a new Fire TV streaming media player or smart TV will get the free six-month subscription to MGM+.

Speaking of the new products, Amazon announced three new Fire TV devices today. The new Fire TV Stick 4K with improved performance costs $49.99 while the equally new Fire TV Stick 4K Max costs $59.99. The latter of which Amazon is billing as its most powerful Stick to date.

The other Fire TV device announced today is the all-new Fire TV Soundbar. Unlike some other soundbars, Amazon’s new soundbar doesn’t come with a streaming player built in. Instead, it is more designed to be used with an existing streaming player or smart TV to enhance audio quality when watching content, including when streaming MGM+.
