Boomerang Is Moving To Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max In September

Boomerang is moving to Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max later this year. Boomerang began emailing subscribers yesterday advising of the change and the service’s Help site has also now been updated to confirm what’s happening.

Beginning September 30, the Boomerang app and website will officially shut down. At the same time, Max subscribers will get access to Boomerang content, including The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go!, Lego Batman and more. It currently remains to be seen exactly how much of the Boomerang library will make its way over to Max.

Ahead of the migration, Boomerang has opted to immediately end the option to sign up for a new subscription. For those that already have a Boomerang subscription, they will continue to have access to the service until September 30, 2024. After which, their subscription will automatically end.

According to emails received by existing subscribers, those already signed up to Boomerang are going to be converted to Max subscribers, and to the ad-free plan. Considering Max’s ad-free plan costs a minimum of $16.99 a month, that’s a fairly good upgrade.

For those that are already signed up to both Boomerang and Max, they will be entitled to a partial refund for any unused time.

Based on the information available, it doesn’t look like this change will affect the linear Boomerang TV channel. Providing that is the case, any live TV subscribers that get Boomerang as part of their package can expect to continue to have access to the Boomerang TV channel after September 30.
