Christmas movies streaming

There are plenty of Christmas movies available to watch on streaming services over the holidays. In fact, we’ve found more than 90 that you can watch right now across some of the most popular subscription services, including Disney+, Hulu, Max, Netflix, Paramount+, Peacock, and Prime Video.

11 of the best Christmas movies to stream (our picks)

While there are plenty of Christmas movies to watch on streaming services, below are some of our favorites that you can stream right now with a subscription.

Christmas with the Kranks (2004)

After years of making Christmas about their daughter, Luther and Nora decide to skip Christmas this year and head off on a cruise instead. However, those plans quickly fall into disarray when their daughter suddenly decides she is coming home for the holidays.

Elf (2003)

Buddy is not technically an elf, but he has spent most of his life growing up as one in the North Pole. Now Buddy wants to learn more about where he comes from and heads off to New York City to find out.

Home Alone (1990)

Whether watching it for the first or 100th time, Home Alone is always a good choice at Christmas. Follow along as Kevin not only deals with being left alone on Christmas, but also some very unwanted guests.

It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

It’s a Wonderful Life is a very popular movie to watch at this time of year, and tells the story of George who wishes he was never born – only to find out exactly what that would mean for everyone in his life.

Jingle All The Way (1996)

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad, Jingle All the Way follows the battle between two fathers to secure one of the very last must-have toys on Christmas Eve – Turbo Man. Unfortunately for both fathers, that’s easier said than done.

Love Actually (2003)

Love Actually features an all-star cast including Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson and Keira Knightley. While it is more about relationships than Christmas, it’s hard to deny the Christmas spirit is alive and strong with this festive classic.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Many people will be traveling to spend Christmas with family and friends this year, and hopefully their journeys and reunions will go smoother than it does for the Griswolds in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, this is always a good movie to check out at this time of the year.

Scrooged (1988)

There are many versions of A Christmas Carol to watch each year, but Scrooged is certainly one of the more unique, and one of our favorites. Starring Bill Murray as TV exec Frank Cross, Scrooged brings the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come to the world of TV.

Spirited (2022)

Starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, Spirited is another retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This one, however, is packed with more laughs and music than many of the other versions.

The Santa Clause (1994)

The Santa Clause franchise includes three movies now (as well as a series) but we think the original is still the best. In this first installment, an unexpected encounter with the real Santa Clause leads to a divorced dad becoming the new Santa, even if he doesn’t want the job.

Violent Night (2022)

If you’re looking for something a little different this Christmas, Violent Night is worth a watch. A team of mercenaries break into a family compound on Christmas Eve and take everyone hostage. However, Santa Claus is nearby and these mercenaries are now on his naughty list.
