Apple Vision Pro users will be able to access a variety of streaming services including Disney+, ESPN, Paramount+, Peacock, and Prime Video, among others. In general, Apple is marketing the watch experience as one of the main selling points of its new Vision Pro headset.

While Apple refers to Vision Pro as “a revolutionary spatial computer” that “transforms how people work, collaborate, connect, relive memories, and enjoy entertainment,” it is basically a mixed reality headset. Starting at $3,499 in the U.S., Vision Pro will be available to buy beginning Friday, February 2.

Ahead of that availability, Apple has provided an update on what users can expect from the entertainment experience offered by Vision Pro. The update included confirmation that users will be able to download and stream TV shows, movies, sports, and more from a number of popular streaming services.

The list of confirmed streaming services include Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Crunchyroll, Discovery+, Disney+, ESPN, Fubo, IMAX, Max, MLB, Mubi, Paramount+, Peacock, PGA Tour, Pluto TV, Tubi, Red Bull TV, and TikTok. For reference, Apple recently awarded Mubi with its 2023 App Store award for Apple TV App of the Year.

Adding to the experience, some streaming services will also offer support for advanced features, including 3D versions and a personal theater. For example, Disney+ will offer 3D versions of new and popular movies at launch, and will debut new 3D editions either alongside or shortly after the release of standard 2D versions.

The Disney+ app will also allow subscribers to watch in various themed locations, including a Disney+ Theater (inspired by the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood), the Scare Floor from Pixar’s Monsters Inc., Marvel’s Avengers Tower (overlooking downtown Manhattan), and the cockpit of Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder (facing a binary sunset on the planet Tatooine from the Star Wars galaxy.)

Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary platform that will bring our fans closer to the characters and stories they love while immersing them more deeply in all that Disney has to offer. We’re proud to once again be partnering with Apple to bring extraordinary new Disney experiences to people around the world,” said Bob Iger, The Walt Disney Company’s CEO.

For those hoping to use an app that has yet to be confirmed as compatible with Apple Vision Pro, the company did explain that users will still be able to access and watch streaming services through a web browser, such as Safari.

In addition to accessing streaming services, Vision Pro will also offer users the option to watch more than 150 3D movies at launch, including Avatar: The Way of Water, Dune, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Users who own or purchase a 3D movie will be able to access the 3D version on Vision Pro at no additional cost.

If all that was not enough, Vision Pro users can check out a curated selection of immersive films and series on the Apple TV app at launch, and also at no additional cost.
