Anyone planning on picking up an Apple TV player in the near future may want to consider buying one very soon considering Apple is providing buyers with a $50 gift card for a limited time. Apple TV is not exactly a cheap streaming player, and while a free gift card won’t reduce the price a consumer pays at checkout, it is one way to offset some of the cost, or save on additional purchases including an Apple TV Plus subscription.

Apple TV is a particularly good option for those already invested in Apple’s ecosystem, but it can also be a good option for anyone simply looking for a new streaming player. There are two models to choose from with the main difference being a 4K player versus an HD player. Naturally, opting for the higher resolution model does also result in a higher purchase price.

The older Apple TV HD costs $149 in the US while the newer Apple TV 4K is priced at $179. There is also the option to purchase an Apple TV 4K with more storage for $199. Regardless of which of these Apple TV models a consumer opts for, Apple is now shipping all purchases with a $50 gift card. The promotion officially started today (July 1st) and is available with any Apple TV purchase made via Apple’s online store, at an Apple Store location, or through the Apple Store app. The promotion is due to remain in effect through July 14th, 2022.

Once the purchase has been made online and ships out, or is collected in store, the buyer will receive the $50 gift card via email. Apple does note that it can take up to 24 hours after shipping or collection for the email to come through. After which, it can be applied to an Apple account and used on various products and services. For example, it could be used to pay for a year’s worth of Apple TV+, to rent or buy movies on the Apple TV player, or to subscribe to one of the many Apple TV channels. Alternatively, it could simply be used as a $50 deduction on the purchase of another Apple hardware product now or in the future.
