Amazon today confirmed that it has sold more than 200 million Fire TV devices globally. The Fire TV family not only includes dedicated streaming players but also smart TVs as well. Speaking of which, and in addition to announcing the Fire TV milestone, Amazon has also now announced an all-new Fire TV 2-Series lineup with the cheapest model priced at just $200.
Amazon first started selling its own first-party smart TVs in late 2021 with the launch of two different lineups, the 4-Series and Omni series. While both sets of TVs shared many of the same features, including the Fire TV operating system, the 4-Series was the cheaper lineup overall.
Thanks to the launch of Amazon’s all-new Fire TV 2-Series lineup today, consumers now have even cheaper first-party smart TVs to consider.
Starting at just $199.99 in the US, the price is the major selling point with Amazon’s latest and all-new Fire TV 2-Series lineup. In spite of the lower price, the Fire TV 2-Series still offers a full Fire TV experience, including support for Alexa, HDR 10, HLG, and Dolby Digital Audio.
The Fire TV 2-Series is available to buy in a 32-inch HD model priced at $199.99 and a 40-inch FHD model priced at $249.99. Both TV sizes come bundled with Amazon’s Alexa Voice Remote.
In addition to the new Fire TV 2-Series, Amazon also announced an expansion of its existing Fire TV Omni QLED Series. Previously only available in 65 and 75-inch sizes, the Fire TV Omni QLED series can also now be purchased in 43, 50, and 55-inch models as well.
The new options not only offer consumers a smaller size to better fit smaller rooms, but they also lower the cost as well. With the introduction of the new models, the starting price of the Fire TV Omni Series has now dropped down to $449.99.
Outside of the US, Amazon also confirmed that its Omni QLED Series, Fire TV 4-Series, and Fire TV 2-Series smart TVs are now becoming available to buy for the first time in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Mexico.
