Future Today has confirmed that its Fawesome streaming channel will soon host its own original content, marking a major change for the ad-supported streaming company. In partnership with Digital Media Studios, the first four Fawesome Originals will begin to become available later this year.
One of those original titles is Southern Food Truck, a competition-based TV series where eight food truck owners battle it out to see who serves the best southern food. Another new competition show is Game Night!, where contestants team up to compete in a game show inspired by “beloved classic and familiar games.”
In addition to competitive-based shows, Fawesome users can also expect a number of original movies as well, including:
- The Peanut Man: A biographical drama that chronicles George Washington Carver, a self-taught agricultural scientist who prayed to God for wisdom about the peanut.
- Greenwood Rising: A biographical drama that chronicles the remarkable journey of O.W. Gurley, a visionary entrepreneur whose determination and resilience transformed the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma into the iconic Black Wall Street.
“Since our inception we have successfully delivered some of the top content to streaming families. Now with originals, we embark on the next chapter in our company’s growth,” said Vikrant Mathur, Co-Founder at Future Today. “With the increase of subscription video-on-demand fatigue, these projects will expand our portfolio of quality content and give consumers original programming they desire at a price they love – free. Our new shows and movies are just the start. We aim to bring more original content to Fawesome viewers in the future!”
Joshua K. Carpenter, Founder of Global Content, played a key role in facilitating and negotiating the production slate deal on behalf of Future Today and Digital Media Studios.
For those new to Fawesome, the channel and app is free to access and can be found on most major platforms and devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and Roku, as well as on most connected TV platforms.
