A standalone Starz subscription now costs $10.99 a month resulting in a $1 price increase. The higher cost went live for new subscribers on August 5, and existing subscribers can expect the cost of their subscription to increase beginning September 5, 2024.

The last time Starz increased in price was June 2023, when another $1 was added, takeing the cost of a subscription up to $9.99 a month.

The latest price increase is not just live through the Starz website, but also a number of third-party providers as well. So far, Streaming Better can confirm that Amazon (Prime Video Channels), DirecTV Stream, Fubo, Roku (The Roku Channel), YouTube (YouTube Primetime Channels) and YouTube TV have all increased the price of their Starz add-on to $10.99 a month.

If signed up to Starz through one of these third-party providers, subscribers can probably expect to pay the new higher rate on their next billing cycle.

While Starz does now cost more each month, the service is currently running a promotion which reduces the cost of each of the first three months down to $4.99. An alternate deal allows new subscribers to sign up for six months for only $19.99, which works out to be $3.33 a month on average.

If signing up for the $4.99 deal, the subscription will auto-renew at $10.99 following the third discounted month, unless canceled. If signing up for the $19.99 a deal, the subscription will auto-renew at $45.99 for six months, unless canceled.

Regardless of whether signing up at the 3 or 6-month promotional price, Starz tends not to offer a free trial so new subscribers will need to pay for the first month or six months when starting the subscription.
